The patio cover

built for Pacific Northwest weather.

Louvered pergolas and wood-frame polycarbonate covers both have their fans. But when the rain comes sideways and the leaves start falling, an aluminum-frame acrylic patio cover does the one thing neither can quite finish: it keeps your patio dry, clear, and usable, twelve months a year.

Head-to-head

Ten ways they’re not the same product.

Most people compare them as if they're rival features of the same thing. They're not. One is a roof. One is a louver system that closes. Filter by what matters to you:

the system we build

Aluminum frame.

Acrylic roof. Nothing to break.

We build patio covers the way they should have always been built: a structural aluminum frame engineered for PNW snow and wind loads, paired with a translucent acrylic roof that keeps weather out while letting daylight in. The whole system has zero moving parts, because the best mechanism is no mechanism.

Engineered for our weather

Rated for PNW snow loads and gust events without a single sensor.

Nothing to service

No motors, no gaskets, no electronics. Install it and forget it.

Daylight, not darkness

Translucent acrylic diffuses natural light. Never a cave underneath.

Outdoor space, year-round

An actual room outside, usable in rain, shine, and everything in between.

Fully sealed

No gaps, no slats, no edge-case scenarios where water gets in.

Add-ons that matter

Privacy screens, windwalls, lighting, and fans, all installed at build instead of bolted on.

Three frames for your aluminum acrylic cover.

Pick your acrylic first; pick the silhouette second. Every style is engineered for Western Washington weather and built to install on or away from your home.

common questions

What homeowners ask before they switch.

  • Will an acrylic patio cover feel dark underneath?

No. That's the whole point of choosing acrylic over solid metal or shingle. Translucent acrylic panels diffuse natural light so the space underneath stays bright on overcast days and never feels enclosed. You get the openness pergola owners love, plus the dryness they don't.

  • How does it compare to a pergola price-wise, really?

For a typical 14×20 attached cover in our service area, our aluminum frame acrylic system runs roughly 30–50% less than a comparable louvered pergola installation. You're not paying for motors, sensors, control modules, or specialized electrical work, and you're not paying to service them every few years either.

  • Can I add fans, lights, and screens to an APC cover?

Yes. Privacy screens, retractable windwalls, integrated LED lighting, and outdoor ceiling fans are all common add-ons.

  • What about snow load?

Every cover we build is engineered to local snow and wind load requirements. The aluminum I-beam frame and acrylic panel system is rated well above standard residential snow loads throughout Western Washington, from coastal communities through the foothills.
